Question on pink insulation for smoke unit

Hello, I made a new question post as some of my other questions in my other post below went un-answered. (Not complaining). When using pink insulation in smoke units, how much do you use? Do you pack in alot kind of dense or just sit a loose ball in the middle with some empty space? If you know much about this kind of stuff feel free to check out my other post below. THanks!

If you don’t get an answer to this by monday goto the coffee pot and click on one of the chiefs post to contact him and send him an email as he has told this a few times on here infact if you put pink insulation in the serch you might find the answer. I haven’t done it so I don’t know your answer but chief does for sure but hes away this weekend

Here is one of many posts concerning “pink insulation” found by using the SEARCH function provided by the forums:

Thanks, I read that one and I think all the others already. None I have found say how dense is the best bet. Thanks

Fill up the space but keep it LOOSE.

Thank you David! I could have tried different combinations, but I don’t like taking it apart and putting it back together alot. I already had to re solder the wires to the unit. Thanks again.

You didn’t mention in your question whether this is a fan-driven unit or a “puffer” type. On a fan driven unit, you want to pack in a much as possible while still leaving an air-flow channel for the smoke to travel up and out.

On a mechanically-driven puffer type of unit, you should still pack it in, but leave the two air-holes free.

One methos I use to get as much in as possible is to drench the wicking with smoke fluid as I add it. You’ll be surprised at how it smooshes down when wet.
