Ralph: I was actualy thinking about buying the maroon top Williams Lackawanna and spray painting the roof flat black. I think that would give it a prototypical paint scheme and it would be cheap to do.
Dep,
Lionel and M.T.H., if you want either of those brands, both sell power and Non-power with black roofs.
I have the Lionel power and non-power versions and I’m happy with them and their prototypical paint schemes, but this has the fancy T.M.C.C., RailSounds 5.0 and all of the other expensive goodies, which are delicate and would be costly in repairs.
Ralph

Ralph, just hit “Enter” right after you paste the link into your post. It should change color and become active.
Thank you Dep and Bob,
I’ll take a look at the Lackawanna engine by Williams, now I know what to do totransmit the link.
Merry Christmas, Happy, Healthy New Year Everyone,
Ralph
I know this thread is kinda old, but just an update:
I just purchased an MTH Virginian FM Trainmaster in the correct black/yellow paint scheme. AND, I was able to locate the correct red/white Virginain caboose in scale size from Weaver. So I bought that too. The hard part now is getting some scale coal hoppers. The ones I have found from Lionel and MTH are a bit pricey.
