Rail Passes

I have been looking for a program to make Rail passes for my Railroad. I can make them at a print shop or with a print program but I am looking for a program to make E rail passes so I can email them to other railroaders. Can anyone advise or help how to make them?

Serif PagePlus is what is used by LION.

LION made this one in five minutes:

Artwork in the left corner was already made, and comes from webpage of LION

If yo are able to make one on your computer you should be able to select it and/or EXPORT the work as a picture.

LION made above pass, and EXPORTED it as a .gif. You may also see language such as “Save as Picture”. Failing all of that, you might export it as a .pdf. If you do not have that option on your computer Google “Cute pdf” and you should be able to download a free pdf maker. There is no program that you will see on your computer, but rather it will show up as a printer. Print to Cute pdf printer and it will generate a pdf file wherever you ask it to do so.

Tom,

I can’t really help with your question, but I remember back in the day (1960’s and 1970’s) when collecting and exchanging printed passes was a popular side aspect of the hobby. I was only in High School, and printed mine in shop class, but I still have my collection of passes I exchanged with modelers all over the world through the NMRA pass exchange. Some of which went on to be famous well published modelers and layouts.

You can just simply use Paint and Text Boxes and save as a JPEG. I have a simple tutorial on Paint which I give my students if you do not know it. Just PM me with your private email. When you do finish the pass, you simply copy it to word and do multiple copies of it to credit card size (85 x 55mm).

While you can get cards printed cheaply, particularly with e passes these days, why bother? You can check out my website for one of mine from years ago, not that I expect my layout to go on to become famous! www.xdford,digitalzones.com

“Children with fingers will ride in the baggage car” LOL

This is more compassionate than my original printing which had them tied up in sacks first, and then put in the baggage car.
