Genesee and Wyoming trade publicly. Watco is private.
Would like to see them go public. There must be parts of
Rail America that the big fellows may want back. Why

Today two tanker trains went south along the Mississippi
at the same time. One on the BNSF and the other on the CP.
You all take care and pray for our railroad friends that are out
working in this heat.
It would be a sad day for RailAmerica’s excursion train business, if Genesee & Wyoming were to acquire it. Their controlling interest in Finger Lakes Railway, represented by board member Mark Hastings has nixed nearly all the busy excursion business once prevalent on Finger Lakes.
Watco lives and breathes on expansion. Watco does have one outside investor, but it will be a sad day when we have to pay dividends to greedy stockholders.
