I got this book as a gift for my grandson (5 1/2) for Christmas. He’s a reader (astounded his mother by being able to read some of the fancy scripts!), and thoroughly enjoys it.

Congratulations!

Cool. Have to look for it in the local library.

I will have to pick up a copy for my future niece/nephew (due in July).

Notice the story takes place in 1869 with a train pulled by a STEAM engine, and not in 1969 pulled by a DIESEL?
Nothing like steam to get kids’ attention. Who doesn’t love steam by the way?
I’ll be lookin’ for this one!

Floca’s work is first rate. he is an accomplished children’s author/illustrator who happens to love history and transportation. Other works include Lightship and Moonshot…the story of Apollo 11.
Locomotive reflects his broadening interest in bringing relevant historical themes alive for young minds.

Bravo! I hope that the right people turn it into a cartoon.
