Railroad worker killed in Random Lake

A Wisconsin & Southern Railroad employee died last night after becoming pinned between two train cars at Lakeside Foods Company in Sheboygan County.

Sheboygan County Sheriff’s officials continue today to investigate the fatal accident after receiving a 911 call about 9:18 p.m. on Wednesday regarding the pinned employee.

Sheriff’s officials responded to the scene at 709 Allen St., in Random Lake, along with the Random Lake Fire Department, Random Lake Ambulance Service and Plymouth Ambulance Service.

Emergency service personnel found the victim unresponsive and determined the employee was dead on the scene.

No hazardous materials were involved in the accident.

The victim’s name has not yet been released. Sheboygan County sheriff’s officials expect to release more information later today.

Definitely a sad day on the Wisconsin & Southern.

My condolences to the workers family and the entire WSOR family

Very sad. My condolences to the worker’s family at home and on the job. This kind of thing seems like it’d hit much closer to home on a road like the WSOR.

Well, WSOR hasn’t been known very well for their safety record…

My prayers are with the family.

Phil

our condolances to the family.

Based on updates on other sites, the employee didn’t do anything wrong- he was just unlucky to be riding the side of a box car being set out that derailed and sandwiched him between it and another car on a parallel track.

That’s a heck of a way to go…At least a quick death.

Thanks for the update.

Phil

My sincere condolences to the family, friends and colleagues.

Your all in my thoughts.
