What are your favorite railroads to model, or railroads that you would asire to model?
As you can tell by my signature, I’m a big (huge) fan of the Union Pacific.
Norfolk Southern. Any railroad that can absorb the much vaunted and over rated Pensy is tops in my book. Besides, black is cool! (and covers the coal dust!)
Sorry, Benny, but all you see in Pennsylvania is NS, just stating a fact that’s all.

THE other day i was sitting at a RR crossing and i saw a conrail and a BNSF and a NS
all hooked together heading west ,blue, yellow and black and it had lots of cars . ben
Like it says in my signature…Southern Pacific Rules!!!
Like everyone else thusfar, the sig says it all…

Yep, you can add me to the list, too.
Do they really Kevin? [:D][:D][:D][}:)]
I model the Southern Railway in HO scale, but outside I run either Southern Ry, ET&WNC, or the Talullah Falls, which ran 58 miles from Cornelia, GA off the Southern mainline, to Franklin, NC. The TF makes for a great Garden RR for bridge lovers because they had 42 trestles on its 58 mile run.

My only preference in prototype railroads are those that were (1) Steam and (2) Narrow Gauge. Therefore I model the Deep River and Winthrop Railroad, a mythical (but plausible) railway running on the east bank of the Connecticut river.

Hi all
Here is my wanabe list
The Kalgoorlie and Boulder Fire wood Company
The Westralia Timber and Fire Wood Company
The Lakeside Fire Wood Company
The Canning Jarrah Timber Company
As I said its a Wanabe list it will be a fair while before I can even think about making any of the rolling stock.
The West Australian timber railways where not quite in the normal mould for timber railways.
So I would be able to run freight and passanger trains the same as everyone else
if it ever changes from dream to reality.
The top three where all local companies
the last one once operated in tha area I lived in from the age of 12.
all of them long gone.
regards John
My favorite railroad? Asylum Valley N&D
Chessie, WM, B&O, CSX, C&O are mine… and of course the Maryland and Delaware Railroad!!!
The little known but much malined short line know as (to a very few of us) Rosebud Falls Scneic Railway.
Don’t bother trying to look them up for any histrical reference. Just ask me since I have in my possession all of the historical information ever not printed about RbFSRy. For the printed see the sig
I really cant answer this as I’ve never modeled any real RR, they’ve all been freelanced,
BNSF and Southern Pacific all da wayyyyyy!
Conrail and Lehigh Valley. I often run Conrail equipment and locos from it’s predacessors.
Waynesburg and Washington R.R.
sigh, so ordinary, Santa Fe… grew up in southern california, rode the coastal passenger trains as a child, going 100 mph was fun…
