Raised lettering for HO buildings

I want to put raised lettering (3/16" or 1/4" high, approx.) on several HO gauge factory buildings- to spell out the name of the company, “THOMPSON MACHINE WORKS,” for instance. Can anyone suggest where I could obtain alphabets for accomplishing this? Plastic, or whatever, to be painted appropriately and then attached to the buildings. Thanks.

Slater’s Plastikard makes letters in various sizes. They come in metric sizes. The 6 mm size is close to 1/4 inches. They are made in England but they are available in Canada and probably in the US from a company that handles models of British prototypes.

if you have a Hobby Lobby near by in the craft dept they have all sorts of letters in various sizes, wood and plastic

I used “alphabet noodles” the kind you use to make soup. you get a big ole bag for 79 cents. they will expand when you paint them.

Thanks guys! Regards- Richard W.

Try an office supply store. Some sell the plastic letters used in letterboards (the ones with the felt rows). All you need to do is nip off the tabs. (Church supply stores might also stock these.)
