Hello all, getting on late today as had test at outpatient services at the hospital this morning… Slept all afternoon following that.
Chief and Don, I like the new plan. Lots of good things happening there. Can;t wait to see those NS engines chugging around and maybe some of the heritage units on the point. I love #8114 painted like the old original NS. It’s really an eye popper.
Chief, thanks for the layout plans and pics of the box. Looks great!
It’s 78 now. Another beautiful day. After getting home from the doctors, we had a very late lunch and skipped supper. No banilla tonight but got some for the thingy crew.
Chief we all know why you didn’t go to the meeting in Raleigh. NO FREE LUNCH. …S.J.
A warm one here today. 95 [xx(] News stated this is second warmest period in history. If this summer is a repeat of last it is going to be a bad one.
Got the tics to the HS grad ceremony today. We are only alloted 10. If you want more you have to find someone giving up tickets. Plus no real good place to sit at the arena. Good news is they sell you a video. So far he is still on track!! 4 days to go!
DougdaG - “…now the fun begins…” - pleaase say it ain’t so…[sigh]
Doug M - we have sat on that same wall at IRM. Sure looks like Ben had fun with Dad!
Howdy guys - well we have good news and probably good news? First, Dad met with the surgeon who said with his other problems and age, and the fact that he has only ever had this one gallstone, it is not likely that he will require surgery at this time. He cleared the stone he had or it broke up and he is just recovering from the associated pancreatitis now. Medicare people even assessed him and said he doesn’t need any follow-up care. Also, Char had a CT Scan because of her persistent drainage and coughing. They found only some small polyps, but inflammation and excess mucuous, which are due to (probably) the residuals of her bacterial infection. ENT will see her and the transplant doctor thinks they will probably just “wash it out” and see how it goes from there.
Nice chat with SJ and Charlie tonight - glad that you are doing well SJ!
Laz - getting closer!
TARDIS is ready and we are willing, so let’s get a move on!
Today is a base family day; basically we get the day off so we can have a four-day weekend in conjunction with Memorial Day. I still woke up early enough to get in a three-mile run and then the wife, youngest child, and I went for a leisurely walk while the older two ate breakfast. I then mowed the yards before the rain came – I was finishing up just as the rain started. We are going to spend the rest of day relaxing around the house.
SJ – I hope the removal procedures go well. I’m glad it’s not the bad kind either.
Dennis – I hope he has a good visit. Hopefully, his schedule will permit a meeting but I understand if it doesn’t.
Morning. Pretty day here. Some Box work and then off to the lake house. Lake buddy coming by for breakfast at BoJangles as he is coming to Raleigh. We got only a light amount of rain. Some got floods with hail. Mowing finished here [mine, pond easement and widow lady’s]. Wiley is being a smart puppy. Already spoiled. Sleeps with Mom at night [his bed during the day]. Mirra [the cat] and him share each others breakfast. They get along good. She slaps at him [no claws] and now he slaps back with his paw. Animals are funny.
Hope all have a safe and great weekend and holiday.
Mornin’ boys. TGIF! Sticky and 72 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Gonna be downright summer like all weekend long. Good for yatchet. Good for pool opening.
dbaker - I’m a little concerned with the aisle widths… Would be kinda funny if Mrs Chief has to dispatch a rescue box for a rescue from a box…
It’s 78 now, going into the 80s. Looks like a hot weekend with just a chance of showers each day. Dam# this font change. Granny will be leaving soon to watch a couple of the little darlings. But I had a good breakfast of corn beef hash w/an egg on top, plus some fresh fruit. I guess that makes it good and bad…S.J.
It’s currently 50F and windy and they say we will get up to our season norm on low 70’s later today. Weekend forecast looks good but will be working on the Honey Do task list for most of it. [sigh]
Let’s not forget those this coming holiday is all about; they will be in my thoughts…
Good morning. It’s 79° and partly cloudy. The high will 92°.
Today if I have no interruptions I’ll be installing DCC decoders in the Athearn/Proto GP35 and the Rivarossi/Athearn U25C.
Yesterday I had intended to clean up the layout a bit after I mowed my parents yard. But I got invited to lunch afterward and my father is the insistent type. So I stayed and helped with the preparation of chili dogs. The way he makes them how could I resist. By the time I got home I didn’t feel like doing anything. So the cleanup will have to be done today.
I haven’t heard anymore from the bonehead who fancies himself the legal owner of the second loco in the F unit trio. I can’t see why he’d want to. It’s just something I built one piece at a time from a collection of junk parts, kinda like Johnny Cash’s Cadillac. It doesn’t even look as good as the one in the photo below.
Lot’s o stuff needs done. Monday I’ll definitely attend Memorial Day services at the cemetery and have a picnic be it large or small. It is predicted to be hot & humid.
BOC [angel]
Fife, any news from CSX?
