RE:Coffee Pot #5 May 2012 6 years [April 1 is Anniv.] and going strong and its for all to chat. Plenty of coffee and sweet ice tea for all. Come and join us and chat. GRITS for the Yankees.

Morning all. Cloudy but suppose to burn off. Possible T’storms this afternoon. Seems storm headed by NC coast tomorrow and we should get some rain from it.

Prayers Blown C and RT.

Have a good one.

Off to haul gravel,

later

Good Morning from Blueberryhill RR…

It is a beautiful 72 degrees. Nice breeze. Going up to 82 today with a slight chance of showers, later this afternoon.

Today is a busy day. I have a few chores to do and a couple of errands to run. Then, lunch and a nap.

Dining car is here with Cheerios for breakfast.

Y’all have a great Tuesday.

Chuck

Good morning all,

Rain and heat relief in SE Indiana. Watched the Victory Dinner except for the first two positions. Got wife’s android device connected to the router yesterday so she has internet hookup now. Still rather dubious about it, but as long as she likes it, we are fine. Not much else going on. TBIL and I can drive. No barrel rolls tonight. I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

It’s 76 going into the 80s. We heard thunder last night but still no rain here. We really could use some. My train friend is coming over this morning to help me bust up the tree stump and get it below ground level. The stuff I bought didn’t work, the stump won’t burn. Then we will be heading off to the train store…S.J.

Konbanwa,

Today went as planned and nothing exciting happened. The morning was beautiful but it rained all afternoon and it is still coming down. I took the kids to the library so they could pick out some new books. We started a reading contest at home today between the two older kids. We don’t pay for schoolwork or high grades, but we figured a summer reading contest will be worth it. I won an old Skyline tin lithograph train platform today on eBay. I’m thinking it will look pretty neat with some of the Lego structures on the UTB RR.

I enjoyed the chat with Brutus and SJ earlier today but unfortunately it was too short. I hope to catch the Tardis again soon.

Kev – Have fun hauling the gravel. But aren’t you supposed to be retired again? [swg]

Morning all!

It was a warm one here yesterday and got really humid to make it even worse. We got a nice surprise last night - storms formed out of nowhere and we got over 1/2 inch of rain. 94 today, humid, and maybe some T-Storms this afternoon.

Made it to Lowes yesterday afternoon and picked up materials to start a garden shed so we have a place for the lawnmower, etc. The new mower does not fold up easily so cannot put it in the garage where the old one went. Plus this will allow me to get all the yard, gardening, paint, spare lumber, and fuel cans out of the garage making some room so I can better lay out my tools, etc. Unlike KEV - my workbench is NOT so Neat.

Hope to work on the shed this evening.

[angel] for BoC and RT

Have a great day all!

Aloha from a sunny and warm Chicago. Still happy Drew graduated from H.S. Later this week, he’s off to his summer work at Cedar Point in OH with his sister. Prayers for BoC and RT! Thank you vets and JoeD for serving! Despite my bride’s wish to keep guests out of the basement, I loved showing off the layout yesterday. Her finger never left the whistle button…

Good morning. It’s 71° and partly cloudy. The high will be 92° and it’ll be mostly sunny.

Vandals struck in the wee hours! Sometime during the early morning some teenage hooligans armed with cans of silver paint painted over the road name on the Alaska GP9. The Sundown police chief has already caught one of the offenders. His own son! When asked why he participated in this act of destruction he simply said the engine belongs to the L&A and the railroad should have painted it over long ago. Now they have no choice. Ezra Johnson, the teens grandfather and owner of several businesses in the town says that the locomotive will be scheduled to go into the Sundown paint shop this week.

Good Morning CTTFans!

Hope all had a nice weekend; the MOH put me to work so coming to work today is more like a vacation!!!

Greetings From Overcast and Cool Taxachusetts,

Might hit 70 today, and the rains seem to be moving in. Like SJ, we sure could use it.

HOLY SMOKES! THE POT IS ON FIRE WITH POSTS! Glad to hear everyone had a safe and memorable Memorial Day Weekend. One family that showed up for both days’ cookouts here…the Dad and his two children belong to their town marching band that performed Sunday and yesterday at their Memorial Day parades. Warms my heart to see parents I know taking the time to do things with their children and getting them involved, whether that be in my neck of the woods or with youse guyz on the POT. Apparently one of the kiddies (mentioned above) wants to play a horn instrument in the marching band, and I happen to have one left behind my daughter, carefully stored here somewhere amongst my imposing collection of stuff I don’t want or need. It is in a black case, so how hard could that be to spot? [:-^]

Blownout… [angel] continue for an equally successful outcome with your treatments this time around Daunting, it is. But folks care about you, including us. Hang in there.

**RT…**getting dehydrated is a lot more prevalent than people think. It was a complication you didn’t need right now, but at least the staff discovered it while mapping out the strategy for the shingles. I have to drink a whole lot of water every time I mow the lawn…before, during, and after. Hang in there, not the way you may have wanted these days off, but you have our [angel] to help you through this.

**RaySP…**glad the “plumber” has a read on your tummy issues. They are no fun, but it sounds like the medical po

There’s such a thing as too much when it drives your blood sugar levels crazy. Having it day after day doesn’t give me enough time to recover and my levels get pushed farther and farther out of whack.

Sunney 82

Monrovia is a town at the edge of the mountains between me and SP Ray. On TV this morning up in the mountains in a very nice neighborhood with a teriffic view, here read very expensive, two young girls twins made a vidio of a bear swimming in their pool. They diden’t call 911 as they figured it would waunder off and it did. While the TV cameras were up there they phototed a deer with two fawns on the sidewalk.

Well the shell of the ex-Alaska GP9 has been painted a nice looking green, spruce green I think. The label fell off the can years ago so I’m not sure. It’s somewhat darker than the old BN green. I left it outside to dry. A little while ago I went out to get it and saw something rather funny. Two Carolina Anole lizards (also known as American Chameleon) were on top of it and it looked like they were trying to match themselves to the color. They’re lucky they didn’t get stuck to it as the paint was still somewhat tacky. I wanted to get the masking tape off the cab sides while the paint was still soft and wouldn’t crack or peel easily. There’s still more painting to be done. The green is just the base coat.

Jim,

I am going to get my hands on some of it tomorrow. My friend used it on his Jeep CJ frame.

I will let you know what I think after I use it.

Joe,

I am retired but when you have a driveway that is 1/2 mile long and you can haul your own gravel you just got to do it.

Speaking of the fun,

Only two loads of gravel today and we thought we would get 4. But along came Mr. Murphy with his law and as we were coming home with the first load there was a loud

BANG!!! [banghead] [banghead]

So much for 4 loads. We blew a tire on the trailer with a 6 ton load of gravel. !.5 hours and $225.00 later we had a new tire on the trailer and we got the second load. The $225.00 was the cost of the new tire. 10 ply commercial grade = $$$

Will try again on Thursday

Well paid the property taxes [^o)] and we are heading to Kroger’s for some food. [dinner]

Prayers for all in need. [angel]

DougM,

Congrats to Drew on the HS graduation. It’s been seven years, but I still remember that feeling of accomplishment that came with graduation. Cedar Point would definitely be a fun summer job.

Kev,

Thanks. I am not in any hurry though.[;)]

Got to try out our new JD mower this morning. I can see why everyone praises them. There is no comparison between the JD and the Lawn Fails we had previously in terms of quality. JD’s build quality is great. The JD starts effortlessly with the rope or key, and what impresses me the most is that the JD doesn’t fight the user like the Lawn Fail did. No more mixing gas and oil either (or cutting the oil amount in half attempting to put the LF out of it’s misery)[}:)]. [tup]

Never thought I’d get so pumped over a mower. LOL

Sorry for my laws, Kev, but they’re immutable. [;)]

Thanks for the prayers and concerns all

Doug M. by chance did you order any of them drawf signals too? I see by the tracking my items have left Kern’s, N.J. so I’m guessing by Friday I should see them seeing there coming 1st class.

My engine is to be here Thursday. [Y][:)]

Haven’t had any appetite since Sunday night. yesterday I have eaten 1 can of progressive soup and about 4 captain wafer’s type crackers to day about 2 crackers and 1/2 a can of soup so far may eat more in a bit as am a little hungry but not much. hoping my appetite will return shortly still feel it may be fro when I got sick the other night or at least thats what its from and still feeling a little nauseated.

Oh jack my dehydration came from being sick

Did run trains some earlier today. always enjoy that think may have to put the GP-9’s up there and let them stretch there legs some especially when I get the other engine in. That will look nice 4 GP-9’s

Sitting here listening to some music and relaxing. Hope all having a good day.
