Tomorrow will be ICD clinic time then a visit with cancer clinic…oh joy, oh bliss…Whistling

Tomorrow I will also find out if I need a driver to take me all over the dang place as well…hopefully I won’t…

RT: [angel]

Good afternoon all,

RT, sorry to hear about your sickness. That’s no fun at all. Been there done that myself not too long ago at least the part about dumping at both ends. Prayers for your recovery.

Jack, thankfully it does appear that the doctor has a handle on whatever is ailing me. I have stopped trying to second guess him and just listen to his advice. I called his office today about the new medicine he gave which has a side effect of reducing your immunity. I was concerned about keeping a dentist appointment coming up soon in view of this. However he said to keep on doing whatever I have been doing so I am.

Celebrated my oldest son’s birthday yesterday with dinner out for our entire family. Saved me from having to cook out. We had desert including the birthday cake at home following the dinner and grandson gave us a sample of his violin playing. He plays in the high school orchestra and was in a concert recently. This is the first time I have heard him play solo lately and was very impressed with the quality of his sound. He’s beginning to sound very smooth and not scratchy like new players. This is about his fourth year of study on the fiddle.

Jack, I like the extra butane tank idea but don’t know where I would store it. Think I have enough for one more cook out but we will see. I think I am using a lot more gas now since the new grill has more burners than the old one.

87 degrees over here this afternoon. A/C is running a lot. Went for another blood test this morning and the nurse must have used a square needle. Ouch! Went for nice walk after that and shopping for a few things. Ran trains until it got too hot so now I’m just laying low in the house.

later,

Ray

RT: I hope you get much better soon. You sound a lot like I did when my diverticulitis flared up. Got an abscess from that once and it wasn’t pleasant.

Ohayō,

The rain finally stopped sometime during the night. I woke up at 0700 and took the youngest for a quick three-mile run; of course his participation consists of sitting in the jogging stroller. The weather is beautiful and should remain that way the rest of today and tomorrow. We will be on the road for the cabin in a few hours. I do not know if the cabin has internet access so I may not post again until Friday evening.

Doug M. and Jack – Thanks for your support, it is much appreciated.

Jack – Our daughter already loves to read so she has a leg up on the older son. We are stressing the comprehension requirement so they just can’t blow through the pages. We are going to read The Iliad and The Odyssey as a family as well so it’s going to be a busy summer.

It’s 79 now.

A nice big rain storm rolled by just south of us. Nope not a drop. We got the tree stump below ground level and there it will stay. Some top soil and grass seed will do the rest. Then we took off for the train store. Helped them unload a Lionel shipment and bought my Pere Marquette box car that I had preordered. We got banilla and I haven’t had mine yet so I’ll wait for the thingy guys…S.J.

Time for me to call it a night. No watermelon today. Had tacos instead. Put the Alaska GP9 in the paint shop this morning. It came out with a BNish paint job similar to a Tyco GP20 I had many years ago. Dug up an old Bachmann light board decoder and wired it into the Rivarossi/Athearn U25C. It’ll suffice until I get something better. See y’all tomorrow.

Evening all!

Got pretty warm/uncomfortable this afternoon. So waited and went out after dinner and started on garden shed floor frame. But - spent over 30 min getting the Dewalt circular saw to true up at 90 degrees. Got the 2x6 outer frame (8 ft x 9 ft) and the center joist in before it got too dark. Making the frame out of treated 2x6’s. Was going to make the 3/4 inch plywood floor from treated plywood - but it looked so bad (warped and C/C grade that looked closer to D/D - so bought some really nice looking B/C that I will primer on both sides). I am setting the floor frame onto those pre-cast concrete deck blocks with the cast-in groves for 2x’s laid horizontally or a 4x4 post upright. I will sink them into the lawn so the 2x6 frame is about 2-3 inches off the ground. This way I can use the leaf blower to keep it blown out underneath.

Jack - I have been trying to get to this shed for 10 years - man, the missus is pleased [swg]

Dennis (V8) - saw the bear video on the news this morning.

BoC, Ray, and RT [angel]

Jeffrey - those chameleons did a good job finishing up that loco!

Buckeye must have overdone it on his monthly birthday. haven’t heard from him in a while.

Time to call it a night.

Vacation day and planned to do some more little jobs around the house, but was a little under the weather this morning and after lunch my son had me running him around town until we stopped for a couple burgers. I did get to Home Depot and picked up a bunch of that vinyl corner bead. They only had 10 ft lengths, but I will need some shorter pieces for the “boxes” around the pipes dropping from the ceiling too, so that is fine. I did not get to search for my train track and then tonight my wife made me remake the bed, just because I washed the linens today while I was off - sheesh! Oh well, I just love fresh sheets myself and she was surprised to find none on the bed when she headed back there to sleep tonight, so I understand her pique!

Prayers for BoC and RT.

Nice pic, Doug!

Kev, glad your trailer didn’t tip!

Laz - tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick… [:)]

Short but nice chats with RT, John and SJ tonight. I’ll do better tomorrow. Mike - let’s go, the TARDIS is prepped and ready.

The sandman calls.

The skies opened up, and we got quite the downpour for about 10 minutes around 11PM…and we needed it, just not so much that quickly. The thunder and lightening out over the ocean was close enough for me. Flooding set in North of us and into New Hampshire where rushing water lifted the asphalt right off some of the roads, accompanied by hail. And of course, the news covered the usual bunch who think their cars are amphibious. [:-^]

**V8…**we also just saw the clip on the news of the bear you were talking about!!! We had a similar incident today 100 miles South of us on Cape Cod. The bear took a liking to someone’s swimming pool. I think the wildlife has decided to take back some of their turf. [swg]

**Roy…**I am neither handy nor do I have the tools to undertake a project like your shed. Mine will have to be “store bought.”

Prayers tonight [angel] for BOC, RaySP, RT, and anyone I have missed. Hang in there, guys.

Later, gang. Off to watch the insides of my eyelids.

Jack

Another sunny warm one today - low 90’s. We really need some rain, the grass is looking like it usually does in August.

Played catch up at work today from being off last week. Didn’t get much done, because I was in meetings for most of the day.

RI52 - the minivan gest somewhere around 25mpg at highway crusing speeds. Wind direction can change that by a few mpg either way, depending on if it is a head wind or a tail wind. I left all three rows of seats in it for this trip - that limited the available cargo space [swg].

Picked up my SD 40-2 from the LHS today. It is in the green with yellow stripe MKT livery. Nice detail, all the Legacy goodies, great sound package, good smoker, and seems to be a nice runner, based on the short test run I did with it tonight. I really like the engine start up sequence. The brake sounds are cool too. About the only thing I don’t like about it is the non-removeable grate on the exhaust stack that makes it difficult to add smoke fluid without making a mess.

All for now.

Good Morning

We are getting sun with a 30% chance of showers later on…high will be 70F…

We got one of them there ‘wall of water’ thingees come through here yesterday morning…actually lifted a few manhole covers off the road surface as well

Today I have another appointment for my ICD to contend with then i have an appointment with the oncologist…oh joy, oh bliss…[:-^]

We had a bit of a puzzler in our morning paper today…why would someone go into a schoolyard to take a kindergarten class’s tree planting project rootballs and all? All of them…poof gone. Nice little lesson for the little one’s to have innit?

And I am not going to mention the foot that was mailed to the PC office in Ottawa…[:-^]

Anyways, better be off and getting ready to do this…

Have a great day!!

Morning all didn’t sleep great woke up a couple of times but figure thats from all the sleep I got the other night. slept about 3 hrs woke up went back to sleep about another 2 then another 1 1/2 so close to what I like anyway. Meds make me tired so probably end up going back to bed after meds at 8. Did get my appetite back last night about 7 or 8 which is good. Boy did it come back but watched what all I ate. so I didn’t over eat.

Nothing really planned for today. Maybe my drawf signal lights will come in that would be great as anxious to see them and compare them to my switches for size.

A lot of planning going thru my head as to touches I would like to do to the layout but not exactly sure how it will be done completely.

I do realize that what I need to do so I have access to do the detailing I honestly have to build like 2’ wide at a time so I can do it with out having to come back and craw over things I don’t really want to. ( mainly with my weight I don’t want to be crawling on the pink Styrofoam insulating board afraid I will put dents in it) I have a lot to learn. But it will all come in time. I’m sometimes think I’m wanting to do more than I can so need to slow my self down. But thats normal I’m sure with all of us at times.

Well time to go catch the dinning car and see what theres for breakfast on it today. Talk to you all later.

P.S. Blownout Cylinder prayers and hang in there. also prayers to ray and any one else needing them and thanks again to all for there prayers and concerns.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill RR…

It is a sunny 70 degrees. Going up to 77 today with sunshine.

Today is a busy day. I have some chores to do and a project to work on. Not much new here. I think I’ll read some of the latest issue of CTT, later.

Dining car is here with Cheerios for breakfast.

Y’all have a great Wednesday.

Chuck

How about this for your house…

Aloha [ip]. Wow, I want to live there, Chuck! Much cooler but sunny. Bit of a sad day yesterday; one buddy got unexpectedly laid-off, another got evicted, and my wife’s beloved 15 year old cat was diagnosed w. cancer. Went over to commiserate with the first, and will help the other move tonight. 8n, that’s decent mileage for a loaded mini-van.

It’s 64 and sunny.

Just checking in. No real plans for today. .S.J.

Just saw some news that we lost Ed Murphy (Ed’s OJ) in the last few days. Even though I never got the chance to do some Railfanning with Ed down in Mexico I considered him a friend and will be missed. My thoughts to Fran and family.

Godspeed Ed Murphy. RIP.

Good morning. It’s 79° and partly cloudy. The high will be 92°.

I’ve decided to retire my SDP40F’s or FP45’s or whatever the heck they are. They’re too big for my layout. Today I’ll be removing the decoders from them. They can be better used elsewhere. I have no other plans for today.

Morning all. Raining. Storm going by the coast. We can use the rain here. Down east where the farm is, has had over their share of rain this year.

Sprayed pond from boat yesterday. Put in plastic tree. Did not do a lot yesterday afternoon. Was hot and humid.

Being lazy this AM. Dogs and cat sleeping. Wifey watching TV.

Think I may paint the back wall of the shop area of the Box. My Box helper had to go to Charlotte as his Wifey was off from work and told him she wanted to go there. Changed our plans. [:'(]

Prayers for Blown.

Kev, if I were you, I’d refrain from projects. [:-^]

Probe, great to have a JD. [nothing runs like a Deere] [:D]

Roy, Buckeye got so many Birthday presents he has been busy playing with them. No time for us. [:S]

Jack, maybe we can turn this storm a little more North and give you some of this rain. [love to share with my Yankee buddy [;)] ]

RT is well, posting reply answers to himself. [(-D]

Jeffrey, keep up the good photos. [Y]

Left Coast guys, Demay is over there sending you Japanese
