It is a sunny 68 degrees. Cooled off. Going up to 78 today with sunshine.
Today is a busy day. Wife is grocery shopping. I have some chores to do and then help put all the groceries away. Food prices keep going up. Gas is at $3.69 a gallon. We only used $48.00 in gas for the month of May. That’s 28 m.p.g. on a 10 year old car.

Today is EOM so it will be a long day for me, and tomorrow is an early day… gets rough some times.
TheQ has to do some work for the board she sits on this Saturday so I decided it is finally time for me to check out The Walkersville Southern Railroad and Museum. It is a small scenic railroad that is only @ 20 minutes away and they run short excursion trains. Figured it would be a perfect 1st trainride for Christina. Hope to have lots of pictures and maybe some video… really looking forward to it.
97 today and I’m going shooting so it will be hot. My friend has a truck so hope to get a sheet of plywood also as I’m ready to start cutting out roadbed for my layout expansion.
Years ago there was a guy in Sunland who had a garage Lionel layout and with his garage door open anyone driving or walking by could see it. I diden’t know him at all and and this was so long ago I was only interested in HO or N then. It seems that he was a bit of a ambasador for model railroading as anyone could stop and see it. Anyone else have layouts like that here?
Train Collector put the propane fireplace on Craigslist. I’ve had good luck with that although you may have to sell it for way less than you want to. I figure something is better than nothing.
We have had some bad experiences here with craigslist and I get tired of the call set up appointment then don’t have the courtesy to tell you they can’t make then call about a week later to see if you still have to try and low ball you on it I just tell them its sold but have another and quote about 25% more but I found it so much easier just to take it up to the auction house as then its sold as is no questions asked.
Got my GP-9 2383 in and it works great [Y] also got my mini switches for switch control and my mini drawf signals I think they will work perfect for what I want will have to see about if they can do a bigger order with maybe a discount as I think I would like to get about another 36 of them but will check later funds not here at moment lol.
Heres a pic of the drawf signal next to one of my switches yeah thats my hand holding it just to get an idea and thats my new engine ( to me anyway) behind it.

Well we got over the 100-Ton mark today and the drive is starting to look a lot better. Got about 50 ton to go till I have spent my allowance for gravel this year. 9 more loads to go. [:)]

Evenin’ boys. Sunny & 84 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Not used to these quick post-bys, but until the dust settles after qraduation, they’re gonna have to do.
Oldest boy goes for physical this week, then will be headed Mid-July for the CSX training facility in Georgia. He’s excited about the opportunity, and even more excited to get away from Maryland. Fifepup still thinking about making a go of it in Myrtle Beach in 2013. Youngest princess may have spine surgery this December. Fifemax at 32 lbs and growing.
The Orioles finally woke up and remembered who they were. [sigh]

My son made it through his last day of HS - by not going to class - which kept him out of trouble! Graduation ceremony is Sunday at noon - hooray! [tup] My sister is flying in for the ceremony.

It’s 56, still waiting for the rain. The doctor said he got all the skin cancer cells out, so I’m sewn up and sore but not in pain. A nearby city was doing a street rebuild and found the track from the old rail car transit line. They figure 1890s, now all the local historical society’s want part of the action. Soup and a sandwich was my supper. That is what this font thing keeps doing to me. So no Banilla yet…I will wait for the thingy guys and chat for awhile…S.J.
