Re: COFFEE POT #7 July 2010 for all to take a drink and chat. Welcome all posters. 5 yrs old and still going. Sweet ice tea too.

Good Evening from the Jersey Shore,

Spent the day getting caught up on chores and I cleaned and waxed the 18’ Boat. Planing on going out to Lancaster County Pennsylvania on Thursday with my son and my brother in law Dan expressed interest in going with us. We are planing on going to the Rough and Tumble Museum, in Kinzers for the John Deere Days, Friday/Saturday. On Thursday we are planing on hitting Cabela’s and Bass Pro Shop, Plus the Pa. Rail Road Museum. We will also hit the Toy Train Museum, since we are planing on staying at the Red Caboose Motel. We will adjust our schedule to get the most out of the few days.

Fife, Sailing, Steamed Crabs and Beer sum up a great time at Chesapeke Bay. Good Luck on your swim test.

Chief, The last time I ate at a Texas Road House it was terrible. "Forgit About It’. Finn is really getting big.

Doug, The sharks are fun to hook and release as long as no one gets hurt. Enjoy the rest of your vacation.

Thoughts and Prayers to all in need.

John

Just got back from spending last week in the OC, MD area. I’ll catch up and report back later.

Good afternoon all,

It is cloudy in SE Indiana with temps in the 80s. It was a surprisingly good day despite a Mass that was interminably long. I must have prayed well enough as Vitor moved from 26th to 11th and moved up one position in the points. Wife, Lucas and I celebrated the good fortune as we went to see “Inception”. A very good, complex film with events occurring at several levels. Again, this is something Dennis W. would not do, but still there was a clear, moral purpose to the plot. It is a very long movie. I had the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast. TBIL anytime and I can drive. I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Howdy guys! Big storms came through here all morning, but it’s quiet now. Got the boys down in the basement for a few hours and we cleared out about 12 black trash bags full of junk - mostly packaging, cut-offs from drywall, and stuff like that. Swept up almost everything - just have to go over it with the shop vac now. We organized the remaining building materials and the tools and stuff, too. Then I took them out for icecream, gave them each $20, and took them to the Gamestop. Lunch for me was a banana split [:)]

Tardis is ready and the skies appear clear now, so we’ll be ready in a few minutes.

Good Evening

80s today rain in the area but none here.

The train show was a thumbs down, same stuff and less attendance. No banilla yet so I guess I can force some down. Brutus come on by…S.j.

Good evening everyone. John, thanks for the thoughts. We did have a great lunch and the kids went with our friend to spend time with her and their two kids. Wife picked up daughter tonight and son will sleep over there. They are having a good time. Also gave bride and I a chance for alone time and we watched a movie called “Book of Eli”. Good flick, but with some language. It did have a great scriptural message. Tonight, after church, came home to get a phone call from some friends in DC. He is a secret service agent and they are looking into adoption.

Chief, your “children” look like they are enjoying life. You and Mrs. Pam must be spoiling the stew out of em. Looks like the baby is going to run things before too long.

Gotta run, hope everyone has a blessed night.
Dennis

Good evening all,

Brutus - I am envious of your dinner selection. I had a leftover BBQ chicken sandwich.

The family and I made it to church today. It was our first service with the newest addition. Afterwards, ate some lunch, read the newspaper, enjoyed some coffee, and the Yankees game.

Eventually made it out to the garage to work on the layout. I started the modification (reducing its length) to the Lionel Dobson house. I was able to cut it apart with a fine tooth hack saw. It worked pretty well and I removed about three inches from it. I still have to smooth the edges and glue it together. I had created a thread about this modification a few weeks ago. Once I finish I will post some photos. I also worked on the airport a little. I finished the surface by fitting some thin pine on top of the tunnels. I painted it green to simulate grass. I laid some sandpaper to act as the runway. I need to add more detail and I will post photos of it as well.

Just got the kids to bed. Now its time to relax with the wife.

Good night,

Joe

Evening all!

Back from trip to TN and local time off. The family had a great time. Got four girls up at same time on wakeboards for a new record. No issue pulling them all up at same time - boat’s got a lotta torque. Would have tried 5 at once but couldn’t gin up another ski/wakeboard rope. So 5 will be goal next year. Three of them (all boys. all girls, and mixed) at a time wakeboarded that way half the week once they figured it out. They got so good at this that only once in 2 days did one fall on startup and only because the others answered ready when that person was not ready. It was great fun.

Been very very hot here, but a bit of cool down this evening with some T-Storms in the area.

Hope all is well with the gang.

Sailed down to Bodkin Creek and back. Terrific breeze headin down, then nothing. Motored back. Did see Carnival Pride cruise ship heading south. That’s always cool.

Sunny and 90’s today.

Stopped in at the LHS Saturday and found a surprise waiting for me. My jet powered RDC had come in - earlier than expected! That thing is just stupid cool. Pullmor powered, makes plenty of ozone, geared for high speed, jet spool up sound when the power comes on. Must have sweat off about a pound up in the attic playing with testing it. Looks like something E.J. Potter would have built if he had dabbled with trains.

Hudson685 - I agree. You can’t really make a judjment on somebody having never met them. Rumors are just rumors. The next few weeks will be interesting.

GregM - congrats on the new adventure. Hope it works out for you. My sister and her husband live in Uniontown. I’ll make it a point to visit when we are in the area.

My wife’s pre-operation appointments are tomorrow. Hopefully all goes well.

Back from vacation to reality…Wish last week would have lasted for longer! Had a great time with the kids and wifey!

Reclinerized from about 10 PM. Gang just went out for a pee. Now off to bed. Yvonne [caregiver lady] called and said Mom had not urinated nor had a bowl movement in over 24 hours. Thinks her kidneys have shut down. Not eating anything solid and just a few sips of Ensure every now and then. Refuses to swallow her meds [probably can’t as she has gorter growing inside her neck]. Think it is a manner of time. Hospace nurse asked if we wanted her to go to hospital [het IV’s] and if stayed home, have a hospital bed for her. Yvonne told them, “No, “Miss Emma” said she wanted to die in her home and in her bed.” How do you pray for your Mom to die and not feel guilty? Got to stop the “suffering”. Yvonne says she says she is not hurting so that makes me feel better. Good night all.

PS: we got RAIN here and at lake house!!! Thank the Lord. [angel]

Frank, [angel] my friend. Just knowing she will be going to a better place and no more pain helps.

Chief, there isn’t a way. But suffice it to say, that your lack of selfishness is wanting what is best for her, not what’s best for you. Went down that rode a couple of times, and as much as I would have liked to have spent a few additional moments together, would want it at the discomfort and pain that would have been required. No matter it doesn’t make it any easier, either.

Our prayers our with you and your family!!
