I bought an LBF car over a year ago which had 3 piece trucks. One of the trucks refused to sit squarely on the track so I replaced them with an Athearn set. A recent purchase of the same freight car had a better single piece truck design. Same metal wheels in both kits.

Well Fred is a live and doing well as we all know he had a Major Stroke
2 year ago and had to take on a partner that was doing a great Job and
The company was doing great till this guy came in and did a made all kinds
of Promises and you will not believe what happen next and this part I can not
Believe my self. The guy the we all thought that Fred sold LBF to is not the
True Story. This person came in one morning and did a lockout of all
employee As well as Fred and his partner and took over LBF in a hostel take over
so any thing on the net about LBF is not True. I had a very long talk with
Fred’s wife and the other day Fred Called me on the phone. His speech was
hard to under stand from the stroke and He has been very depress over the
hole deal. This comes after his first Partner did not pay the bills or the income tax
(E&C Shop’s) Fred was able to get the Tax taken care of and reopen the Company
under his old nameof LBF Company and was doing very well till he took on this person as a 3
partner. So if you see any thing on the net about LBF it all a lie and is not true.
Fed has not dun a thing at this time and is seeking legal help to see what can be dun.
He has ask me to get the ward out to every one about what is going on. I will give
updates when I hear about them So If any one can pass this info on please
do so.

I don’t know how you get your info but you need to keep the leagal stuff to your self and burgary or Larceny or jail time to your self. As for Fred Becker He has had a very ruff time of it and you need to read my MSG about Fred Becker as he put everything in to pull things together after his partner the other Fred that was with E&C shop ran it into the ground and Fred Becker was NOT!!! the one that ran E&C into the ground and ran up a income tax bill. That is what happen to E&C shops. Now for LBF Fred Becker Paid off the Tax lean and open the LBF shop. every thing was great till this guy came in and make all kinds of promusses to make him lot of money ya RIGHT!! Humbert’s just went in and did a take over of LBF and left the out standing bills for Fred becker to pay and now he can not even get into his plaint every thing went to Hubert’s SO Fred Becker is BROKE!!! big time and HE DID NOT DO ANY THING WRONG!!

Ah, I’m so glad I did a search on LBF instead of just asking about it. So from what I can tell from this brief convo is: Fred got taken advantage of and Hubert’s is the company of the culprit?
You know I almost bought some of the bethgons last summer… (got Walthers and Athearn instead for the moment) And then I saw Hubert’s ad in MR… If what I have written above is true I may think twice about buying from Hubert; despite the 100 unique numbers!
Definitly let me know since you have direct contact with Fred, I want to let everyone out here know if this is true.

yes to put it lightly riped-off big time he also did chip haulers that was very good in BNSF
so if you see any thing with of like LBF or Hubert’s I would not buy it any more. I will let every one know if i hear any updates on this list Fred is a very nice guy and help a lot of people a start when things where good I just can not beleave that some one would stooped that low
