Re: RE: Joe Fugate's DVD Series is AWESOME!!!

I agree Joe’s video is great. I just received the first one I’ve bought, Vol 4 on scenery and bridges. Very helpful and well done. Just the right level of demonstration, detail, and help.

Joe’s web site is also tops. Ordering on his site was easy, and I received the DVD very fast (couple days). Can’t wait for Vol 5.

The names Callahan, Allen and Frary are in the hall of fame; next on the list; Fugate, Soeberg and Powers.

Cliff, your fantastic modeling makes your testimonial on Joe’s DVDs a compelling reason to buy. As soon as I get past the mental block of spending money on DVDs etc instead of directly on the railroad, I’ll buy them.

Cliff, by the way, I’m eagerly waiting to see what you do with those Golden Valley Canneries you nabbed up one by one off of ebay that I chose not to bid on because you were the high bidder.

Hey Yoshi!

Wow, this thread is an oldie but a goodie! It is so funny that you saw my Golden Valley Cannery purchases! But I have to tell you, it has been a nightmare and my only bad experiences on eBay since 2004 (with well over 500 purchases). Out of three auctions, only one has proven to be successful. One of them was listed as “New in Box” and unassembled. I was aware the plastic had been removed, but due to the rarity of this item, I went for it. Well, a week later, the kit arrived…it had No Main Walls, and the few existing parts were even partially assembled! I was totally outraged!! After communicating this to the seller, however, he not only refunded my money, but told me to just keep the kit for spare parts. I was satisfied, but still disappointed. The second kit was from a brick and mortar hobby shop with an eBay storefront. For this kit I waited over two weeks (paid for Priority Shipping) with no response. After two ignored e-mails, I called the shop directly where I was informed it was not available…this one was a Buy It Now!

So out of three auctions, I still only have one to show for it. As for my purpose in amassing three kits, it is for a major kitbash. I’ll post pictures here if and when I ever find the other two.

In keeping with the original post I made, I have received the fourth installment in Joe’s series and it was another winner! I still highly recommend the entire series to everyone out there!

Cliff…wow…I’m sure glad I didn’t stick my hand in that hornet nest.

Two very nice layouts and now I’m after Joes DVD’s!

As impressed as I am with Joe and Cliff’s modeling I am more impressed that they, and others here so freely and happily share their knowledge, experience and accomplishments with all of us. Just looking at the pictures they post have inspired me again and again. Thanks guys!

Dave:

You’re welcome. The whole motivation behind coming on this forum, for my web site, and for the videos is because I’m a teacher at heart. Nothing thrills me more than to have the light bulbs come on for somebody around an issue they have been trying to sort out.

I agree too, that Cliff’s modeling is fantastic, and I can’t get enough of it!
