Really Tough Paint to Remove!!!!

About 9 months ago, I was testing Badger Modelflex paint with my airbrush and sprayed a diesel shell. Now, I want to strip it and modify the shell before repainting. I tried 24 hrs in a 91% alcohol bath- not even any paint lifted off! I am trying another method for the next 24 hrs, Super Clean, a cleaner degreaser I have used in the past on other styrene shells, but more recently, I have had very good luck with 91 alcohol- until this one! Is there something special about stripping Model Flex paints I need to know??? Cedarwoodron

According to the Badger web site they make a cleaner that is supposed to work in five minutes. You might want to try that.

I have had very good results stripping Model Flex with 91% alky. Quick and total removal including the primer layer beneath the finish coat. Is your alky fresh and undiluted?

The alcohol is fresher than the Tennessee hills- straight from Wal Mart! That is what is so puzzling about this. I sprayed a light coat on the shell, light enough to come off with 1000 grit wet dry paper where I sanded some painted molded-on details off. I have used the 91 alcohol on 30 year old paint and 1year old paint with equal success. Any other alternates (to buying Badger stuff)??? Cedarwoodron
