Trying to match up wheelsets for some IHC passneger cars, I wrote, and was told to measure the Axle length". When II did, I was told to download the ‘Applications" Chart’ ". When I finally got all pages in hard copy, There were no cross reference to IHC’s Passenger cars, only their 'Metal passenger trucks.
- IHC metal trucks are spot welded together and if taken apart will destroy the truck. also Central Vally’s, which are riveted together - same deal.
Tthe person on the phone could not come up with a matching product.
A phone call to Jim Bennett (Jay Bee) solved my problem: He said the IHC cars used a shorter NEM axles, not NMRA . A subsequent order for JB’s metal wheels with NEM axles dropped right in…
I have not bothered with Reboxx wheelsets, since.
I guess Reboxx is not infalible after all. They certainly put a lot of effort into it. I can’t recall a subject here or at Atlas that drew so many responses. The industry doesn’t make it easy and newbies must be bald by now.
