recoloring bottle brush trees

Bottle brush pine trees have turned brown. How to re-color them?

I have some trees that were originally a very bright green, meant for a Christmas display, I suppose. I sprayed them with a rattle-can of Moss Green. They’re still not showpieces, but they look OK in a mixed forest with other trees.

Here is another idea for creating a canopy of conifer trees on a narrow ridge. I cut black packaging sponge int 1/8" sheets and then cut zig-zag pattern. Then sprayed with varied colored green and layered them on the backdrop. I have just completed 420 deciduous trees from Scenic Express Super Trees. If you are interested in making realistic deciduous trees to fill in between conifer trees, buy a $25 box of Scenic Express Super Trees. I cluster three tree armatures together and dunk them in a 3Lb can of 4:1 dilute Matte Medium. Then, I spraqy them with hair spray and while holding the group over a bag of Fine green Turf Flock and using my fingers, sprinkle the flock onto the armatures. Very realistic resulting trees. Rub off as much of the old foliage as you can. Then spray them with a green, black, or brown spray paint of your choice. Then sift on some ground foam of various green mixes. The more colors (both paint and ground foam), the more variety.
