Regarding David Klepper

You guys are probably right. I’d better stick to cable car videos for my SF fix.

Besides, my personal chef makes a great Cioppino: that’s very San Francisco.

The Isle of Man also has the motorcycle Tourist Trophy Races. Each lap is, I believe, 41 miles in length around the Isle.

When I see everyday here on this forum the great natural and man-made beauties of the British Isles, I find myself thinking that as far as I’m concerned, there are more interesting things there per square foot than anywhere else on Earth.

The UK is indeed, “a green and pleasant land.”

My sister had a cat with a stubby tail, like a racoon. The cat had a litter of kittens and they all had tails of different lengths and one was a Manx I guess) in that it had only a hollow spot where a tail should be and it’s back legs were a lot longer than the fronts. The other kittens were walking around but it took that one longer to do it. They all went to good homes because they were so interesting and different from regular cats. The Isle of Man also has a fine brewery called Okells- excellent beer and it’s not pronounced like it was Irish.

I eat Rice-A-Roni regularly. Sometimes all by itself. 50% white rice, 50% vermicelli.

(Browning)

Hot, ready and just the same as it always was

This is chicken rice by the way

The wild and long-grain rice is the best…

I need help. My Windows 7 computer, wherein I happily edit photos is, I hope, being repaired. I’m using as muchb newer computer with Windows 10 and its latest Paint is all I have for editing. Is there any way to use this MS Paint to darken, lighten,or increase or decesase contrast, which the old MS Photo Editor did well? THANKS!

Not well unfortunately.

Microsoft Paint sucks. I believe that the photo viewer application also has a sort of editor that maybe can do that–I don’t recall for certain and my 10 computer is in storage. You could import your images into Microsoft Word of all things and nicely edit them therein–Word is still my favorite image editing program, although I do like Paintshop Pro.

You are correct about photo viewer, and I’ve used it. No way of correcting color balance and nlot as easy to use, at least for me.

Yeah, I don’t much like it either.

With the help of an Israeli friend, Nadav, former Yeshivac student classmate, who gave me the computer I now use, with logging on and anti-virus solutions, I now can use old paint, with all of its advantages over new Paint. The ICG Executive train is thec1st result and has a thread for others to post exec-train photos.

But possibly one of you readers can help with Photo Editor. “Format informastion is not available in the Registry.” Where kis the Regidstry in Windows 10? Search wom’/t tell me but directs me to Internet sites. What particular programs or files were in my Windows 7, and may have been transfered from Windowsw XP or even Windows 95, to make Photo Editor work successfully? I have ALL the files from the defective Dell Windows 7 computer, thanks to Nadav, but there are far too many to begin as clueless search. HELP! THANKS!

I’m glad that that issue is solved, but on your new issue:

Well, that’s out of my domain of knowledge! Sorry!

I think the software just “ages out”. I had a version of Adobe PhotoDeluxe that I really loved but when I upgraded to a PC with a gig of RAM it couldn’t recognize a number greater than 999 meg. It kept saying I didn’t have enough memory even though 1 billion is certainly a larger number than 16 million which is what the program was designed to operate with: 16 meg. Sometimes technology advances just too far to operate old software in the new environment.

I went out and bought Adobe Photoshop Elements 2018.

I’m not surprised.

I still have XP and Vista machines - they have aged out of being able to navigate a number of web sites.

About two-weeks-ago,25 January, I had my 94th Birthday by the Secular Calendar, then i9-days later by the Hebrew Calendar. The party, with food, was merged (as usual for me at the Yeshiva) into the close-by “New-Year-for-Trees” (Tuv B’Shvat.) muliple and exiodic fruits party. But this year the teachers decided to have a special ceremony with a gift of a Hebrew-language book. The book is essentially a very comprehensive “drivers, maintenence, asd repair manuel” for Chaplains in the Israel Defense Forces. Of course, at 94 I’m hardly a candidate for one of those jobs! Better stck to repairing old photos? I responded by singing the Amercan (Shaker) “Simple Gifts” in Hebrew. But I seemed forced to mistranslate Gift, “Matanah” to Idea. “Inyan” Possibly because simplifying my life took work, not just receiving a gift?

A video was recorded with sound, but it is too large to post directly,.and Imgur wasn’t a help either. I’d have the same problems with a video of piano playing. Can attach vit to a return email.

Dave, in honor of your 94th birthday, may I offer these two verses from the Book of Psalms?

"May He give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.”
Ps. 20:4

and

“So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom”
Ps. 90:12
