Does anybody know of a good, cheap source for “Reindeer Moss” (Lichen) in bulk quantities ?
i did a quick google and found it at dried flowers “r” us, 14.95 usd for a pound, 9 pounds has a 20% discount, hope that helps.
I picked up bags of it from a florist supply that was going out of business for penny’s on the dollar. I saw the exact same stuff in AC Moore and it wasn’t all that expensive only difference between it and the W/S stuff is it seems a little more dried out and brownish in color
It should be available at any AC Moore or Michael’s Crafts stores in the artificial flower dept. or any floral supplier.
AC Moore and Michael’s often have a 40% or 50% off coupon in the Sunday papers so the cost of a bag would be even less with the coupon.
Hmm-- that 40-50% off coupon might be just the ticket. What type of restrictions are typically on the coupons? Just one item? The whole purchase? Only what’s in the store? I’ve never seen one of the coupons-- I’ll have to go buy a paper and see if I can find one… now to figure out where to buy a paper… does anybody know if newspapers actually exist anymore???

The coupon is usually 40% off 1 item. SOmetimes it’s a 50% off 1 item. It may take some time to amas a large supply of the stuff if you need/want a large supply using coupons every week. Sometimes they will have a coupon for say an additional 20% off your entire order, sale items sometimes included, but only good on a certain day like say Monday, Labor day only. But at 40 or 50% off you can buy two almost like or like buy one get one free.
You should be able to get a Sunday newspaper at any local convenience store/ gas station. Yes they still do make Sunday papers loaded with sale ads and coupons, at least around here they do anyway.
