Hello,i try to find the way to remove lettering on engine(steam and diesel) without damaging the paint.

Depends on how the lettering was put on. Is it painted on? Some alcohol and an eraser may work. Is it transfer lettering? Non-acetone nail polish remover.
I use Solveset and a pencil eraser. Brush the Solveset on let sit for a moment, and rub with the eraser. Then wipe off the gunk.
