Remove paint from plastic?

I’ve some plastic parts here that I’ve painted with Krylon latex based paint. Well, now I’ve realized that was the wrong thing to use. I’d like to use some kind of vinyl dye instead, but I’m not sure how to get the paint off with out damaging the plastic. I don’t want to sand because I don’t want to lose the texture of the plastic, but I don’t know if turpentine, or something similar will remove the paint. Does anyone know of a latex paint remover that won’t harm plastic?

Thanks in advance.

you can try Chamelon paint remover. I’ve heard they’re exxelent removing paint from plastics. Their web site is WWW.CHAMELON-PRODUCTS.COM

Hmm, that link doesn’t work, could you give me another? I searched for the ‘chameleon paint remover’ on google but couldn’t find any resellers in the states?

Read somewhere(probably Model Railroader)that rubbing alcohol will remove lettering and logos without damaging the styrene. It might have been diluted but I can`t remember that either(getting old).Maybe Andy will jump in here and spur my memory!
