Another novice question. I painted the sides of my rails using an acrylic paint, and now I need to add feeder wires to the rail. What is the best way to remove a spot of paint?
I use a Dremel tool with a wire brush attachment.
The tip of a selected jeweler’s file or small screwdriver is faster and more precise in cleaning a small area for soldering.
I’ll agree with Bogp40 or a xacto knife. After you’re done, a dab of touch-up paint. Even a finger nail emery board. A roughed up surface, will work better than a smooth one.

If it’s acrylic paint, old fashioned blue window cleaner (the kind that contains ammonia) and a q-tip will take it right of, as well as getting rid of oil and dirt.
I use a scratch brush from micro-mark.
