I have two of these locos and is quite pleased with them. But I do not like to have two locos with the same number running (1514) . The yellow numbering is on the tender, on the side of the cab and on the side of one dome.
Has anyone done this? I was wondering just how to remove the last letter of the numbering, and what decal might be used to add a new last digit of the number.

I’ve used a pencil eraser (the light gray kind - like the ones on mechanical pencils) to remove numbers on a boxcar. The key is to take your time and do it lightly and gently enough so that you don’t abrade the paint underneath. Also, make sure you use an Opti-visor or some type of magnification so that you can see what you are doing.

On the decal, when I make real decals I use Testor’s decal paper which I get from Hobby Lobby.
