Could anyone point me in the direction of finding an electric motor to replace a defective one. Have not been able to find one. The engine is a 2-8-0 Consolidation from IHC (most likely).
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Ed I’d start by doing a search on Ebay You might try Just try Can Motors
You’ll see a company that sells lots of motors called “Microlocomotion”
You might try contacting them And No i dont work for them nor have i ever bought from them

It was probably made by Mehano. You might try contacting them.

It probably has the same motor as their SD-24’s do. You can buy one of those locos new for $20 and rob the motor out of it.(then have an SD dummy unit.) Modeltrainstuff.com has them for that price.
If you’re sure it’s from IHC, you might give them a call and ask if they could sell you a replacement motor.
