I found a pre-war lionel 93 water tower that is in need of restoration. It is the silver painted one not the “gray” version. I am curious if anyone has ever retored one and if so which paints did you use that match the original? Also were you able to find the “lionel trains” decal being reproduced?
You could probably get away with some Krylon or rustoleum “aluminum” or bright silver paint and the decal used to be available from several sources including Olsen’s toy train parts. Ideally you would want a water slide decal but I don’t think they are still available as the person that was reproducing the water decals has retired (some one may know more on that front). I think all the ones being sold now are the stick on variety which I personally don’t use.
You could always put a stickon decal on until you find a water decal!
