restored f unit in Portland or

on 11-16-06 about 4:15 pst I saw a restored f unit in great northern colors southbound on UP in

Oregon City (near Portland). It was between some Portland & Western Units.

anyone know what was going on?

I’m sure it was the one Doyle McCormack owns.

The GN Funit is housed along with the 4449

The units ran through from the PW. I saw them North of Linton Tuesday morning.

Absolutely right. My dad works with Doyl. I’m not sure what was going on, but It was planned. My dad and I whatched them. All we saw was a parked engine. You were lucky to see it moving.[:)]

I saw it parked in Salem earlier; it was on a Willamette & Pacific siding by the waterfront park.

It’s back in Portland on Monday, turned in the reverse direction of the original movement.

Was it running in the middle of two engines that had Santa Fe blue bonnet paint jobs? I always have a link on to the webcams at the Brooklyn Yard just outside of Portland and the other day I saw the lashup heading south through the passing main. Oh, how I wish that I could have freezed the picture.

yes it was between the two blue and yellow ex-santa fe units.

That is cool that here we are miles away but still have the technology to view the same train and then talk about it.
