Rix Quonset Hut
I have several of these models. They are sturdy and look good anywhere. They are very versatile. I combined 2 kits to make a longer building and made a shorter one with the left over pieces.
Great item.
That looks stunning, I have a question; What scale/gauge is it?
Thank you for future responses.
Josh
Hi Josh,
These kits are available in HO or N scale for about $13.95 each.

Glad to hear this is a good kit because I bought one, forgot about it, then bought another one. And then I “learned” that I had bought a Roco military quonset hut years ago and forgot about that one, too. So I am swimming in Quonset huts.
I have been searching the internet for a resource that states what sizes quonset huts came in, and thus far have not found anything definitive. The Rix hut looks small to me (HO) and is smaller than the Roco.
It uses the same parts as their Grain Bins, so you have to glue each corrugated section together and then remove the excess at the bottom on either side. Otherwise its a straightforward kit. I’ve made a couple up now (as well as their Grain Bins).
I also have one. There are a lot of seams on the roof so I lined mine with black paper to keep the inside light (led) from bleeding out through the cracks.
