I attended an event at Rochelle Railroad Park back in 2001, just before the fateful date of September 11. I think it was co-sponsored by Trains Magazine and Canon. Can anyone refresh my memory? I’m trying to pull my notes together for that trip which included riding Amtrak back to California from St. Louis when the airlines were grounded.
I also attended that event at Rochelle and I recall it being a celebration of the then recent opening of the railfan park there. I recall there being lots of people there and reps from TRAINS and Canon but I don’t recall any more information other than we saw lots of trains and my bride was a bit bored but still humored me with my hobby and made like she was having a good time (she’s like that you know, and that’s part of why I love her so very much).
