Running trains on DCC?

After running a no car train on no track, it started to derail. can someone tell me what the problem is? thank you

No.

CB&Q,

Your post is a bit confusing. Are you saying that you’ve run your locomotive - by itself - and had no problems but, now that you’ve connected up cars to it, the locomotive and/or cars derails? That would be a track or locomotive issue; NOT a DCC issue.

Can you describe exactly where the derailments occur? Does it only happen in one particular spot - e.g. at a curve? Or, is it random and happens in several spots around your track?

Troubleshooting tip: If the problem occurs in a curve, turn the locomotive around 180-degrees and run the locomotive through the curve in the opposite direction. Sometimes problems only occur in one direction or the other. This can help in narrowing down the problem area - e.g. a track pickup wire that’s impeding the rotation of a front truck.

Hope that helps…

It started when your left underblatt was called for frullip-gouging in the 5th ogre. (100 Whose Line points to the first one to recognize the reference.)

If you’re a giddy Canadian still celebrating the victory over Russia last night, you’re forgiven.

WHAT!!! The problem appears to be you had NO track.

You really have no idea what you’re doing, right?

Yes, the simplest solution would be to correct the problem. The best way to correct the problem I have found is to use a bladeless knife without a handle so it will fit better. Do that and you should be fine.

Good luck. Nothing is worse than having a derail problem and not seeing it.

I’d like to know how you ran the train on NO track.[%-)]

Now, if I was to take a few words out of this I’d suggest maybe you look to see whether the wheelsets are true to gauge and how it is sitting on the tracks. It might be that there is something on the wheels or it is picking at something. Trucks might not be sitting on the rails properly–might be sitting so that the flange is ON the rail instead.

Next time it might be an idea to reword this so that there is no guessing game going on here[%-)]

It is powered by an onboard battery no doubt.

Hmmm…if you have a train with no cars, not running on track, can it derail??

An interesting philosophical question, kinda like “what is the sound of one hand clapping?”. [%-)]

Wonder if it was on carpet or hardwood floor.[:)]

Xmas train—then tried to run it on code100 flex?[:D]

Wasn’t that a great game!!! Bring on the U.S.

What, you didn’t see the article a couple years ago in MR about NO-Trak modular standards?

WIND UP TRAINS! [:P]

This post was meant to be FUNNY!!!

And, how exactly was someone supopsed to know that?? Based on the content of your other posts there is an underlying theme of someone is not really sure what they are doing since you have asked some questions that are rather basic in nature. This thread, taken in context with the others, make you look like someone who really doesn’t have a clue about what they are doing. As such, your weak attempt at humor was taken as a serious question.

I’m sure the others that replied to this want to thank you for wasting their time.

Makes about as much sense as pulling a nail out of a box and throwing it away because the head is on the wrong end. Wait dummy; don’t throw it away! You can use that nail on the opposite side of the board! Geez

So were the routines of Carrot Top.

You need:

  1. New material.

  2. A better sense of timing.

3, A better understanding of just what makes people laugh.

  1. The ability to handle hecklers.

And by the look of things, CB&Q, you’ve got your hands full…

(…and they do, too…)
