What would you guys think of someone creating a site for us people who have created thier own shortline railroad. Like a community, a forum, chatting, swaping ideas, etc.? I think the idea is cool. What do you guys think? Yes or no.
I would say go for it [:)]
Thanks, anybody else?
There’s a proto-freelance yahoo group which is pretty much what you’re trying to accomplish.
Man, I wish I would have known that.
I give my seal of approval. Under one condition though- you also have to include narrow guage, since most narrow guage railroads were shortlines.
You got my vote…
Actually you are talking about 2 different things.
A proto-freelance railroad is base on a real railroad with generic settings or a what if…That means what if a fallen flag railroad was still around today?
A freelance railroad is a completely fictitious railroad such as the V&O,AM & Utah Belt…
This is a direct quote from the PFMSIG home page…
If I remember correctly, most home layouts are freelanced. I’ll bet a good many of them are shortlines, like mine. A forum just for shortliners may be an interesting niche site. I’ve often bemoaned the lack of information on real shortline railroads. Perhaps this could address both shortcomings.

That’d be great. I’d have to get my parents to let me join, lol.
