Does anybody know the scanner frequency for CSX’s Bound Brook line in NJ?
Another possible source is Raido Shack’s poorly named “Police Call Plus”. The book for your area will have a page or two of RRs/frequencies in a back section.
That’s another good suggestion. I think the trick here is to find a list that was updated AFTER the CSX takeover of the area. Many of the scanner guides may be somewhat dated when it comes to the relatively recent mergers. Most stores that sell scanners will have a local channel list, usually free for the asking, however, the completeness of these lists will vary a lot. Another possibility would be to use your scanner’s “search” function to find the needed frequencies, although it is a rather hit-n-miss operation, and can be quite time consuming. Ron H.

I think the latest edition of Kalmbach’s “Compendium of Railroad Radio Frequencies” (15th edition) was published right around the time of the CSX/NS takeover of Conrail, and I couldn’t find any reference to Bound Brook, New Jersey. Maybe someone more familiar with the local towns and locations could find the right frequencies for you by using a town name close by, and trying various CSX/NS frequencies. Ron H.

I’ve seen an ad in “Trains” for a book that Kalmbach sells listing all of the frequencies.

i’ve found some frequencies by messing around on the web, and listening a lot more. But i still dont hear too much, the RailRoad people seem to keep their radio talk to a minimum, but its still cool to hear them!
