scratch building

I’ve been searching for a Harriman roof in HO so I can build several S.P. passenger cars. Does anyone out there know of a manufacturer that makes such a roof. Wood would be the preferred choice. I looked into arched roofs used on the east coast rolling stock but they don’t seem to be the correct size.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would look at LaBelle Woodworking, perhaps NorthEastern?

Old MDC Harriman kits off of eBay?

I’d check the Walthers catalogue / website. I think they have one or more company in there that makes various types of passenger car roofs in wood.

A digression. Many moons-- yea DECADES ago- I bought a wood strip of N scale monitor roof stock. I don’t think it has been offered for a quarter century. SOMEDAY I am going to get around to building that old time car.

model works carries a round roof for forty foot cars as part number 1002. I found some at the local hobby shop they come 3 to a package.
