wow!!! nice screen shots where did you get all of this stuff I want
the NS GP60’s,CN SD75I,CR C40-8W,NSC40-9,BNSF DASH9,BNSF DASH-9 IN SF COLORS,THE CSX STREET RUNNING ROUTE,MARION,OH ROUTE,LMS UNIT AND THE CR SD50 AND ANY UP.FOR MSTS
One of the BNSF C44-9W’s and some of the NS units are at www.mapleleaftracks.com. I think everything else you want is at train-sim.com (exept for the CR C40-8W with NS patch).
Adrianspeeder: Go to Microsoft Games > Train Simulator > Train Simulator Editors & Tools then click on “Activity Editor”.
Once there, open any route and any activity. On the right side, under player service click “New”. In the box that opens on the left, click “New” under consist and name a create your train. Save it, then cancel out of the service editor and the MSTS editor, not saving changes to the activity. You can now run your train in explore mode. To edit an existing train, simply choose the train in the consist editor and click “Edit” instead of “New”.
Adrianspeeder, there is also a tool available for FREE at several sites (train-sim for example) called ConBuilder that lets you build consists, check downloaded consists for problems (i.e. missing items so you can replace them with ones you have), alter consists, etc. It is a nice tool to have.
Route-Riter will also do this, but it does not seem as easy to use. It does seem easier for editing loose consists though.
Once you build a bunch of consists (somewhere around 900-1400, depending on your machine), MSTS will start have problems. Train Store will fix that problem. This happened to me once I started to get the new activities for Tehachapi (Payware) and Crawford Pass (Freeware) and required engines and rolling stock to operate them as written. Train Store also lets you only load what you need, greatly speeding the loading time of MSTS. It does add a step to altering consists and what not, but I would say that it is worth it rather than not being able to run trains. Now I have been a little out of control getting what I want from all over rather than worrying about a problem.
The dockside shot is from Ohio Rails (freeware route). You can even drive the tugboat in one of the activities (okay, so you can go forward and backwards down the river). It is on avsim. There are activities and equipment which take the route from steam through transition era to modern. Really well thought out route. There is also a payware Canton & Suddenly Route by the same guy.
Also look at Metro East. It is a nice commuter line by the same group.
