Are you sure that’s 4200HP? The SD45X’s may have been that high. But that’s pushing it for the 20-645E3 engine and AR10 alternator. I suspect it’s actually 3200HP, achieved by changing the engine governor. Lowering the horsepower that way was a common practice for many SD45 owners to save wear and tear as well as fuel.

These old paint schemes still out class any of the new ones.
