Searching for HO brass 'lamp shades'

Years ago I used brass, HO scale, ‘lamp shades’ for most of my structure lighting, esp exterior, with grain of wheat/rice bilbs. These days I use LEDs for interior lighting and over time I have lost my source for these fixtures.

Web search and using the search tool on these forums hasnt helped. Can anyone provide sources for these types of structure details.

The only thing close I did find is from GRS Micro Lighting (item GRS105; ‘Green lamp shade’) at ~$5 bucks a pop. Bulbs are cheap and making my own lighting will be much more economical.

Are these the lamp shades you’re thinking of? 10 to a package and they’re on sale!

I used the same Miniatronics shades in my subway stations:

those r the ones! thanks Don.

Years ago they were sold by Campbell Scale Models. The Miniatronics are about the same thing.

Since you are using LED’s (no heat), Plastruct offers plastic lamp shades that might be even cheaper.

The campbells and the Miniatronics HO scale shades scale out to be very large for most applications. Myself and other modelers like the N scale shades for most HO applications. They scale out to a more reasonable size. You might take a look. I run mine slightly under voltage to extend bulb life.

I have found a perfict brass substatue for the lamp shades. I use brass fastners and 1/16 brass tubing…I can get 200 fastners for 1.87 and 3 brass tubes for 2.47…I will upload the pictures of them…

You can also use a sequin drilled appropriately, The outside of many are black and the concave part is often silver…

I have an illustration of my own lamps on my web site www.xdford.digitalzones.com for your interest!
