Securing JTT Trees

How would one secure a JTT Premium tree to bare plywood? Part of my layout doesn’t have a foam base and since the trees don’t come with bases I am unsure of how to secure them.

I haven’t used any JTT trees yet, but The only way I can think of to attach a baseless tree to plywood. would be to drill a hole, put a shot of latex caulk in the hole and insert the trunk. I suggest caulk over glue, as it will hold the tree better, while it dries.

Could you add a thin piece of foam and shape it to a contour to fill the space. It would give you something to plant your trees in. You could cut some 1" or 2" in half (thickness). Need not be to careful about perfect, as you want some land contour.

I suppose you could even make individual bases out of foam if you wanted to. Use latex caulk to attach tree to foam and foam to plywood.

Good luck,

Richard

That is what I was thinking. I think I’ll take a ceiling tile and saturate it in glue. That would make it stronger than steel.
