See if ya can figure this one out!!!

Can anyone figure out why the locomotive on the left is unique? Here’s your link… http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=69589
DISCLAIMER: I already know.[:D]

Is it unique, or one of only a few?

I know it’s a former EMD demo, and the corners were rounded to improve aerodynamics, but someone else will have to fill in the details.

I am guessing it is a GP59.

FORMER EMD DEMO!!!

One of only 3…almost forgot…they called em “Bluebirds”

I know! I know! It’s the ONLY number 4607 on NS!

Yuppers, not to mention the fuel fillers, it had like 4 of them!!!

And, if the crew isnt a little more careful about how they park it, it just might need a new handrail or two…

Thats really close…

BOOOO! YOU CHEATED!

[:D]

Sure that isn’t 1 of 4? Saw a lot of them between Pueblo & Raton…Love those rounded cab edges. It’s a shame that feature cost too much to mass produce…

Yep…there was 4606, 4607, and 4608

Well, guess what I just happened to see today? Managed a quick picture, too:

Well what do ya know, everything I talk about comes to pass!!! [:D]

Nora’s photo can even be inlarged too for a better view! Thank You Nora.

It looks to me like it’s one of the EMD demo GP-59’s with those rounded corners and prow front of the cab. Although it could be a GP-60 too.The demo 60’s looked the same
