The solution is obvious to anybody in the private sector. Fire the lazy deadbeat government workers and hire in private sector people who actually do work for a living. The other alternative is to leave the doors open 24 hours and install security cameras. Then eliminate all those lazy government workers not doing their jobs in a timely manner.

Another example of why Amtrak will always be a failure.

Excuses, excuses. But the fact is the same. A busy station is inaccessible due to some simple bureaucratic scheduling snafus. The situation is easily remedied if management cares. Does management care? Your guess is as good as mine.

Fire the station manager for failure to have back up plan.

Yes, Mr. Gusano, we get it in the comments to every story about Amtrak and/or government: every single person who works for "the gubmint is lazy, incompetent, and/or evil, and everyone who works in the private sector is diligent, honest, and never makes a mistake.

Nobody in the holy private sector ever opened a store a half-hour late. The flight I took once that left an hour late because the co-pilot came to the airport an hour late on daylight savings time day couldn’t possibly have happened, because it was a private sector business with diligent private sector workers.

Jeff Guse: Curious as to your anger towards government workers.

To the Jeff from Michigan, I like your idea. provided it be hooked up to the watchful eye of a security camera. to the Jeff from Illinois, if you want small governement with very few laws, there is a place off the coast of the horn of Africa you can move to that will fulfill your dreams; it’s called Somalia.

Twice in six months.

I guess they need a timed or remote unlock.
