Just completed my around the room wall shelf track layout. Looking for a peel and stick wallpaper border to put on the wall just above the shelf to be seen behind the train as it goes around. I have found some really cheesy ones that aren’t very realistic and lots of Thomas the train ones! Lol
Wondering if any of you have some ideas I can steal! Thank you in advance!!!
Not sure what you mean by “border”? Normally you would do a backdrop behind the trains; in HO you would want at least 12" or so of height. A solid light blue would work good.
At one time, you could get wallpaper with scenes with hills and sky on it - not specifically for model railroads, but I’ve seen it used with a layout. You could try Walthers backdrops, I’ve used several of them on my layout.

You might have to trim them top and bottom to get the right ‘visible’ portion. Note that many of the sections are designed so there are no ‘repeats’ in the pattern.
You could overlay these with flats of structures or even 3D forced perspective.
