Shooting up at the train - mid week photos

When I built my layout, I had no idea where I wanted my rivers and bridges to be during early construction, so I built my entire track up on 2*4 blocks and off the plywood. This left my options wide open for later. It’s a bit of extra work to build track this way, but the benefits of ‘anywhere’ bridges and rivers made it worth it.

One additional benefit to this approach is that it becomes possible to get your camera below the train and shoot up at it. Here are a few recent shots to illustrate.

Catching the ceiling lights in the MTH passenger cars…

Outstanding suggestions, thank you.

`That’s beautiful!

Interesting concept. How did you handle corners? slip in angled pieces on the outside edge? Got any pix of the layout before track was added?

I’d like to see how you did the layout.

That’s about right. It’s easy using foam to cover the construction blocks and blend them into surrounding scenery…

Here’s my website. ‘Pg 3 Design Pics’ has early photos…

Excellent looking water, really effective, it isn’t real is it? I agree entirely with the camera angle, I always try to get mine looking as if seen from human eye level on ground, wish I had a better camera.
