I saw a short train in the Brigham City UT yard this morning:
Engines UP8795 ( a tunnel motor), UP3538, and UP2234.
Flat car with space shuttle booster UP 58387
Stainless steel passenger car Southern RR Warrior River - which a Google search indicates is now numbered PPCX 800022 and is used as a crew support car for space suttle booster shipments.

Do they not put solid fuel into the booster somewhere in Utah? Morton-Thiokol used to be the contractor for solid rocket boosters.
I guess they have to get them to where they could shoot them, and barge transport is out of the question in that country.[:D]
