Is it just me, or did the engine speed up, maybe with stronger voltage, as it got nearer to the departure point on that last curve?

Very nice. I have a whole closet full of G-scale stuff and nowhere to run it (except the occasional loop around the family room for the kids). Before we bought our house we were looking for a house that had a nice big backyard and I was going to set up a sweet backyard layout. But we ended up in a house with a tiny yard (nice house though… 
so no outdoor railroad. But I’ve got a big basement and lots of HO so I’m not too terribly upset. Still… G-scale… that’s nice.
