Should I use foam insulation or no?

Hi everyone. I’m sort of building the layout in the book A Model Railroad From Start to Finish. I’ve already made the foam core base as called for in the book. Lately, I’ve been wondering if I should make another base out of the blue (or pink) insulation foam instead of the foam core. An all wood setup is out of the question, it’s too heavy for me to manipulate with my arms (I have no use of my legs). The biggest difference between my version and the books is in the track, I’m using flextrack instead of the kato unitrack as I don’t like the way the kato track looks. Are there any other cripple creekers out there? Thanks in advance.

Rich, if weight is a real consideration for you then foam may well be a good choice. However, since you have already made the base, why do you think you need to make another?
