Single Blade Switch

I found this while looking for something totally unrelated…thought it was really interesting

The switch is located in Snaefell on the Isle of Man. It would be cool to model this.

There were a LOT of switches of this type used in the surface workings of coal mines in Fukuoka-Ken, Japan in the late '50’s. (Probably underground, too - but I didn’t go into the workings to check [:D].)

Of course, they were only used by four wheeled mine carts, and by tiny industrial locos that didn’t weigh much more than a loaded cart. Track gauges ranged from 450mm to 600mm.
