slate flour

here in central Pa there is a transload center served by the norfolk southern, various commodities are handled here including slate flour, i’m not sure if they are unloaded or loaded there my guess is loaded. the cars used are small 2 bay 100 ton covered hoppers lettere for conrail the place 2-3 covered hoppers on m-w-f and sometimes sunday. this brings me to my question of does any know of and end user for slate flour?

I am pretty sure it was used to make the biscuits at my old college dorm cafeteria.
