Smaller clapboard reveal for N scale

Does anyone make clapboard siding with a smaller reveal than Evergreen’s .030? My problem is this reveal is 5 to 6 inches in N scale which really looks wrong on a New England structure with a typical 3.25 inch reveal on the clapboards. Putting in a scale size window just screams something is wrong with only half the boards expected.

On a related question, I thought I remembered an old article in MR that created clapboard siding from card stock, but I can’t find it. If someone has a pointer to a method of building your own clapboard siding, it at least gives me an answer if there is not a commecial product.

There was an article “Building Realistic Models with Cardstock” in the April 2009 Model Railroader. There several companies that make printed clapboard siding as well as brick and many other materials. Purchase, download and print as much as you need. It is not 3-dimensional but looks very realistic from normal vewing distances.

45+ years ago I made N scale clapboard (board by board) by cutting thin strips from manila folders then glueing them, with the desired overlap, to a cardboard base.

I used to make 3-dimensional wood shingles similar to the old Campbell HO product from typewriter paper.
