So, been naughty or nice?

[:D]

So, anyone knows what Santa is bringing them? Care to share, wish for, or brag? Or, what do you plan on treating yourself after all the dust settles and its time to “Merry Christmas” to your self? [:p]

I I figured it was close enough to Christmas for a thread as goofy as this.

Personally, I dont know what I am getting but I after quite few years of “rough times” for my fiancee and I, this is the first year since we have been together were things are good in our lives and we could have a little fun this Christmas. There are alot of boxes under the tree that have that “Athearn RTR frieght car box look” And, for the first time, my dog chewed on something right. There was one package that just got nicked and I know that wonderful Athearn Blue Box color any where peeking out of the corner of the wrapping papper[:)] Man, I feel like I am 10 again!

Well, I’ve kinda gotten used to picking out something ( which usually means buying it myself, then getting the money for it later) when it comes to model railroading presents from friends.

Santa always brings me surprises tho. [angel]

My kids are gone, so the wife and I tend to help each other to get exactly what we long for. I know that I have a BLI PRR K4 waiting for me. I am also in the know of a couple of other things. The rest, including what goes into the stocking, must be a surprise…it’s a rule with us. I know that my wife will be surprised with a few things.

As long as there are some genuine surprises, that is enough for me. In fact, that cool K4 would be plenty! [:P][yeah]

PS. I am happy to hear of your improved fortunes, canazar. Merry Christmas.

Nothing wrong with coal, you see…

Hi There;
Well I’ve been very nice all year[:I] Don’t know if if I’m getting any train stuff but there is a lot of intersting packages under the tree. I bought my wife a diamond ring & will ask her to marry me again on Xmas morning. My daughter burst into tears when I told her. So I figure if that will be worth a few brownie point s after .We have been married for 42 years.
Tom
( Hope she says yes)

She better say yes!!! Sounds like great timing too! and best of luck!!!
Well, I sort of gave myself a present… not the it’s a big deal here in my house, so it was more accidental or coincidal, but I bought a 2003 VR-X Lancer today! I should have it by thursday…[#offtopic] I know, nothing to do with trains, but I’m not getting any other presents(that I know off…they might have hidden them.

Woo hoo, that’s cool. LOL, I admit, I would jump for joy like a kid with a all day pass to Diseny Land if I had anyhting from Broadway Limited. ![:D]

Thanks for the kinds words Crandell. Merry Christmas to you too,

Man, knowing this is the last Christmas we have “unmarried”, [:)] I can only hope we can make for 42. That’s pretty freakin cool man. And yeah, that will be some seriuos brownie points[;)] Best of luck

Neither nauty nor nice…Just unemployed, broke and bumbed.(yet still trying to get in the spirit of things). I know there’s an IHC Presidential passenger train under the tree for me. (I had to sign for it) Hopefully a mid tower computer case to house all the computer stuff I’ve gatherd for my new system.(getting tired of the old slow computer that I’m posting with now)

Tommy - I just sent you an email with greetings from Salmon Arm. I’m sure that the diamonds will work convincingly for you.[^]

as far as what is under the tree for me … I’m hoping for a COAL train - 'cause I’ve been a little bit naughty (sshhhh, don’t tell anyone)

I’ve been nicely naughty. [}:)] [:-,] [swg]

I must’a been nice this year because my wife told me to circle all the stuff I wanted in the Walther’s catalog…a big package from walthers arrived a few days ago…but i’m not peeking!..kind’a like the suprises i get from her at christmas time…chuck

Mostly nice,…and totally forgiven. Don’t know what “Santa” thinksabout the nice part, but I hope he agrees. I won’t go real deep into the forgiven part here, just suffice it to say, Merry CHRISTmas!!!

I’m pretty sure it is the black, hard, lumpy stuff for me again this year. [}:)][}:)]

I don’t run steam (unfortunately) so I can’t even break the stuff up, grind it up further and put it in the tenders. I do have a small fleet of ore cars, though, and could replace the plastic loads with the Christmas gift. And a few HO Pennsy brass steam locos.

Tom, you’re taking quite a risk there, asking her to remarry you. I’m afraid if I did that, the wife’s answer would be “let me get back to you on that!”

Seriously, the wife and I are not exchanging anything big this year. It was just something we decided back in the summer. Neither of us is religious, and in fact she is officially Jewish. We were wanting to appreciate the whole spirit that is supposed to fill people this season.

So, the jolly fat man in the red suit is certainly welcome to feast on cookies and milk here, but he needn’t leave anything. “Refresh yourself, sir, but leave a little extra elsewhere, with someone who needs it more than we do.”

Besides, the sale at Tony’s was good enough for me!!!

Well I know someone who’s getting the black stuff!

Merry Christmas Ken L!

Nice to have friends who can take a little ribbing

Fergie

You might want also put this in the “weirdest flatcar load” thread. Thats hilarious! [:D]

I have no expectation of getting anything model railroad related. Just the usual tools/sweaters/gift cards/etc… That is fine for me, as I like to seperate my hobbies from my ‘normal’ life! I buy what I want all year when it comes to model railroading, and I would not want to offend someone if they gave me a ‘NFL’ boxcar(something that really means nothing to me, even though I am a big football fan).
Now maybe I can be ‘naughty’ with someone else around the house? hmmm…

Jim

I bought a Santa Fe, Budd business car a couple of days ago (the one The Coach Yard did a while back). I figured that should be good enough. I got everybody else taken care of and had some left over scratch, so I figured what the heck. After Christmas is the 3 Genesis Warbonnet F7Bs at the LHS.

Merry Christmas to all…

have I been naughty or nice…well, I saw a shirt the other day that sums up my answer…it read:

“dear Santa, please let me explain…”

As for Fergie’s flatcar load…are those strings approved by the local MRSCTD?..(Model Railroad Santa Coal Transporting Division)
