Solar Lights made Idiot Proof

I think I have found the ideal “ready to run” solar powered lighting for structures.

Malibu Solar Accent Lighting, Model LZ413, UPC 0 78275 09535 9.

The kit contains a solar panel and three “accent lights” on a 20 foot long cord.
The kit comes with both stakes to push into the ground and brackets for screwing the solar panel and the lights to any surface.

The bezel ring holding the lens comes off real easy. The arrow on the bezel ring (near my thumb) points in the direction of tightening.

Removing the ring, lens and mirror reveals a small circuit board with three LED’s. Remove two screws, carefully cut away the “hood” and “Post” and you have something ideal and small to put inside a structure.

This kit makes it so “Idiot Proof” that I think even I can do the modifications. This one is even simpler that the post I made yesterday about using the camping lantern.

OK, maybe not quite IDIOT PROOF. But for those of you who are smart enough to plug in all THREE wires to the panel, it should be easy enough.

Yes I put them up on the fence to have a test run and could not figure out why one did not work!

Looks great! Are they 12 volt??? How much were they???

The solar panel has three “AA” rechargeable batteries, so that would make it about four and a half volts. Cost: Wal~Mart for $40, Home Depot for $48, Lowes has it for $52.

Sounds great…got to run by Wal-mart tomorrow. Thanks
