Someone stop the Chief! We're freezing!

Chief is actually building benchwork! This has been verified. This is terrible! Lionelville has been plunged into a deep freeze!

Someone please make him stop! Rescue us! Our GRITS are freezing!

Look out! Ice on the bridge (over the bird path)!

Who will help us?

Howdy…Is this for real??

Nice touch.

Roy…Do you have pictures of Chief actually building his benchwork[;)]

Last I heard, he was watching TV, about Elk hunting and eating Hot Dogs.

[dinner]

Blueberry - of course the Chief is watching Elk shows and eating hot dogs - didn’t Nero fiddle while Rome burned…

Look - Dallas drivers ballet on ice! This way, everyone behind these guys do not have to worry about wrecking their cars - nor do they need to worry about getting home anytime soon!

Where the blazes are our soap operas?

CHIEF! You’ll pay for this!

When will it stop?

Good job Roy, you just made my day[:)]

I have a former student teaching in Mission TX and he says the funniest thing in the world is watching TX drivers on the snow & ice, sadly that’s also true here in snow country.

Jon

That pile up was a great touch.

It is nice and warm here in Buckeyeland. Roy, what did you do to #$!# the Chief off?

LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW!!!

Legs [used 2X4’s as cheaper and I did not want to rip. I really have some challenges. 1940’s house, plaster and now 1" thick baseboards and 3/4 inch wide shoe molding at the carpet. Funny, the subflooring particle board I’m using as sub-top is 49 inches wide. 8 foot long but crazy width. Well, will work OK as legs are inside 1X6 [free lumber] and 1X4’s [moves them in 3/4"] and the extra 1" over hang with make the legs hit the shoe molding just right. Here is what I’m using to level the top.

WOW…what a start!!! Where’s the track???

Cheif don’t let them get to you,…I am still in the preperation stage of the basement I have got the musty smell out and removed the 50/60’s loose tile from the floor and that is where the smell had been comeing from the loose tiles where hidding moisture and probably did not stick that well because some one had painted the floor at some point in time. I have to finnish scrubbing the floor to get the last of the tile adhesive up. then I will paint the walls and get carpet then I will finaly start the benchwork. The last few winters here in OHIO have been mostly cold and dry. When I was a kid in the 70’s we used to have blizzards that would shut the whole town down.

Meanwhile, back in Rosyville…

The Chief as you can see from his post above is steadily working away. Raw materials are arriving by RAIL!

Chief! Please STOP!

EVEN SANTA CLAUS IS HELPING!

Oh the inhumanity!!!..

jeez - what next - plague of locusts?

Armaggeddon?

I take it the elves went on strike?

What did we do? What shall we do? Sawdust is flying!

Man! It’s really piling up!

How does he do it? Does he not care?

Fellow Grits lovers have been totally abandoned - oh woe!

They should get paid overtime.

So that’s how they make GRITS.

Nice work Roy, glad to hear Texan’s is getting a chance to work on their driving skills. Up here it is cold and the roads get stable making the driving easy. Seldom have the pile ups like you just experienced! Yikes! As the Chief keeps building the Texan’s keep sliding.

About 25 years ago Dallas had a big snow storm and shut the city down, maybe 6" - 8" of snow. Anyway the front page of the Dallas paper had a picture of a friend of mine x-country skiing to work down the middle of deserted downtown Dallas streets. She worked at one the local hospitals as a nurse. At the time I lived in Grand Marais MN and we got a real kick out of seeing her skiing in the southland.

Keep your feet off the brake, slow down and triple your stopping distance and get that saw and square out of Chiefs hands.

Kevin T.

He’s like the Energizer Bunny - he just keeps going…

…and going…

He even brought his tractor…

Where does this go from here?

Hmmmm. Today’s high temperature - 78.

Tomorrow’s high temperature - 48!

Yep. Chief is making progress on the benchwork. [;)]

Next will be getting a snow plow on the tractor if he keeps this up !![:D]

Thanks, John

Dr. John, we were hoping for some words of hope from you and we get a weather report…?

But wait! What’s happening? Someone or something is emerging from the sawdust quagmire…what could it be?

Maybe Dr. John has guided us to some rays of hope? The news - the snow is abatting - the sleet has stopped!

What’s going on? What could be happening that provides us respite from this freak disaster of nature thrust upon us by the Chief?

He emerges from the pile, victorious - is it benchwork?

Is it an L-girder masterpiece?

A tribute to model railroading tabletop cookie-cutter design?

What could have caused the torturous elements of nature’s cold furry to cease?

He emerges and he is holding a giant TOOTHPICK!

It wasn’t benchwork after all! The news - high’s tomorrow near 50 degrees!

WE ARE SAVED! YeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaeeeeeeeeHHHHHHHHHHHH!
